Cosmodrome: Extraction
Company: Expression Games
Role: Junior Level Designer
Purpose: Expression Games UEFN Fortnite project
I was a part of Expression Games New IP team. One of the projects I that I helped create was a UEFN Fortnite project. I was responsible for designing the game rules for the mode, as well as creating the map and the map layout. We held many playtests in order to gather feedback and used that feedback to make iterations and improvements to the map/mode.
New IP Extraction Shooter
Company: Expression Games
Role: Junior Level Designer
Purpose: Expression Games New IP project
While working at Expression Games I was a part of their New IP team. The first project I worked on was a multiplayer Extraction Shooter in Unreal Engine 5. I blocked out interior and exterior 3D layouts focusing on map flow, pacing, cover and balancing line of sights, while working and collaborating closely with other disciplines
Samsara Side Quest
Role: Game/Level Designer
Purpose: Skills bootcamp with INFINITY27
Date Duration: February 27th - March 10th 2023
I took part in a 2 week long skills bootcamp with open games studio INFINITY27. I was tasked with designing and creating a side quest which would fit into the game they are currently working on, Samsara. The engine I was working in was Unreal Engine 5.
Shop Till You Drop
Role: Level Designer
Purpose: GitHub Game Off 2022 Game Jam
Date Duration: November 1st - December 1st 2022
This project was for the GitHub Game off Game Jam 2022 which had a theme of clichés. Working on this project was a team of three people. We created a supermarket sweep video game and the cliché was to 'Shop till you drop'. We created this in Unreal Engine 4 and was able to make it playable in browser on Itch.io.
Minigame Mayhem
Role: Lead Game Designer
Purpose: Uni Third Year Collaboration Module
Date Duration: January 10th-28th and May 9th-27th 2022
This was a collaboration project I did within a small team. As a third year I had to take up a senior leadership role so I became the lead game designer for the project. We created a collection of minigames that can be played locally with 4 players.
Lego Level Design
Role: Game and Level Designer
Purpose: Solo Uni Final Year Project
Date Duration: October 2021 - May 2022
This project was my university final year project. I used the Lego Microgame framework in Unity to design and create a Lego level inspired by Toy Story. The level consists of smaller levels which have varying themes and objectives.
